Due to some excellent team work between law enforcement agencies, wanted suspect Yong Lu was apprehended in downtown Niagara Falls last night by NFPD.
Lu, a Brooklyn resident, was wanted for cutting off the arm of his pregnant wife on Thursday in Brooklyn. Falls Police Superintendent DalPorto was notified that the suspect was in the downtown Niagara Falls area. NFPD Officers took Lu into custody without incident Saturday evening.
A job well done by NFPD, NYPD, and the US Marshals Violent Fugutive Task Force for locating and apprehending the suspect. Our streets are safer because of your efforts.

Brigitte Nielsen has become a mom again at age 54.
The model, actress and reality star and her 39-year-old husband Mattia Dessi told People magazine Saturday that their daughter Frida was born Friday in Los Angeles, weighing 5 pounds, 9 ounces.
It's the fifth child but first daughter for Nielsen, who has four adult sons from previous marriages. She married Dessi, her fifth husband, in 2006.
In a statement, the couple said, "We are overjoyed to welcome our beautiful daughter into our lives," and "it's been a long road, and so worth it."
Nielsen revealed her exceptionally late-in-life pregnancy last month by posting photos of herself lounging with hands on her belly on Instagram and Twitter, saying the family is getting larger.

President Donald Trump on Sunday called for the US to deport people without judicial proceedings, referred to an invasion by âthese peopleâ and railed against standing immigration laws.
âWe cannot allow all of these people to invade our Country. When somebody comes in, we must immediately, with no Judges or Court Cases, bring them back from where they came. Our system is a mockery to good immigration policy and Law and Order. Most children come without parentsâŚâ Trump tweeted.
In a follow-up tweet, Trump said immigration policy in the US is âlaughed at all over the world,â and âis very unfair to all of those people who have gone through the system legally and are waiting on line for years! Immigration must be based on merit.â
The renewed focus on immigration came after Trump signed an executive order on Wednesday aimed at keeping some families together at the border after his administration faced calls to stop separating children from parents.
On Friday, Trump said Republicans would do better to âstop wasting their time on immigrationâ until after the midterm elections, pushing the issue until after he anticipated they would defeat Democrats in November.
And earlier Sunday, Trump called for Democrats to address immigration and said his administration was doing a far better job than Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama.
âDemocrats, fix the laws. Donât RESIST. We are doing a far better job than Bush and Obama, but we need strength and security at the Border! Cannot accept all of the people trying to break into our Country. Strong Borders, No Crime!â Trump tweeted.
Trumpâs continued statements on immigration and border security, including his call on Sunday for the US to forgo the use of judges, come as Congress attempts to grapple with the issue.

Wisconsin GOP Sen. Ron Johnson said Sunday the laws and practices of the US have encouraged undocumented immigration to levels the nation cannot handle.
âWe have been encouraging illegal immigration,â Johnson said on CNNâs âState of the Union.â

Johnson, who chairs the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, said decades of âwell intentionedâ decisions were responsible for surges in illegal border crossings over the years.
