Weirdly today my daughter brought over one of her childhood friends. A very nice guy who besides being gay (I knew that the first moment I met him when he was like, idk, 14?) Anyway, we had a great discussion regarding faith in God and religion. He grew up poor in California by the Redwoods and describes his family as Catholic pagans....I was astounded. He went on to explain that on both sides of his family were Catholics first with abilities given to them by God. His mother called herself and her family Brujas. That is witches in Hispanic cultures. Even more odd is that he said he often played as a child next to a tall chain link fence separating him and his friends from what he later discovered was the Bohemian Grove. Oddly we found that we had many things in common, including our views on politics and President Trump.
