LAREDO — Border Patrol agents arrested two people found hiding in the windjammer of a semi-truck on Tuesday.

It happened at a checkpoint along Highway 83 near Laredo when the driver of the tractor-trailer was referred to secondary inspection. A Border Patrol canine alerted to the presence of something suspicious within the vehicle, according to a news release.

Further inspection led agents to find two people hiding in the truck's windjammer. The two men, from Ecuador and the Dominican Republic, appeared in good health.
The driver, a United States citizen, was arrested.

LAREDO — While apprehending a group of undocumented immigrants, Border Patrol agents also arrested an MS-13 gang member.

It happened on Tuesday near Laredo. Agents said 6 undocumented immigrants were found and transported to be processed. During a records check, one man, an El Salvadoran National, had an extensive criminal history and was identified as an MS-13 gang member.
“The men and women of the United States Border Patrol work daily to ensure that our communities are kept safe by disrupting and deterring illicit activity throughout our border,” said Laredo Sector Acting Deputy Chief Patrol Agent Anthony S. Good.
