We lost an inmate
July 07, 2018 03:56 PM
A female inmate was found dead in her bed at Monroe Correctional Facility on Saturday, according to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.
The 55-year-old was found at 8:48 a.m. on Saturday. Deputies initiated CPR until the ambulance arrived, but the inmate did not respond to the life-saving attempts and was pronounced deceased.
Attempts to notify the family of the deceased have been unsuccessful thus far. No foul play is suspected but a internal and criminal investigation will be conducted as per protocol and the Monroe County Medical Examiner's Office will perform an autopsy.
