Updated: Jun 12, 2019 05:37 AM MST El PASO, Texas (KTSM) - The International Boundary and Water Commission has come to a temporary truce with 'We Build the Wall,' the group responsible for the construction of the half-mile-long border barrier on private land in Sunland Park, New Mexico.
Late Tuesday, IBWC sent a press release stating that effective immediately, they will begin locking the privately-owned gate that was installed on federal land without permission due to security concerns at night. This is after a two-day attack on the Commission by Brian Koflage, President of 'We Build the Wall.' https://www.ktsm.com/news/local/el-paso-news/ibwc-agrees-to-lock-we-build-the-wall-gate-at-night/2071179340

H.R. 2740 would worsen the border crisis -- Tell Representative Williams to vote NO!
Tell Representative Williams to oppose H.R. 2740!
Dear activist,
The House of Representatives has begun consideration of H.R. 2740 -- the first of the FY2020 spending bills that would fund the Departments of Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, Defense, State, as well as the Legislative Branch, Foreign Operations, and Energy and Water Development.
While most immigration enforcement spending is reserved for the Department of Homeland Security appropriations bill, H.R. 2740 contains several provisions that would severely limit enforcement, including:
H.R. 2740 funds border security for Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, and Tunisia, but blocks any funds in this -- or any prior -- appropriations bill from being used to construct "border security infrastructure."
H.R. 2740 allows illegal aliens who have received work permits through the DACA executive amnesty to work for the agencies funded by the bill even though most federal jobs are reserved for U.S. citizens only.
H.R. 2740 prohibits Health and Human Services from working with Immigration and Customs Enforcement to detain or remove illegal alien sponsors of unaccompanied alien children, even though, most times, the sponsors are the ones who paid the drug cartels to smuggle the children to the United States.
This bill would significantly weaken the administration's ability to end the ongoing border crisis and, as a result, would allow the drug cartels to continue to rake in millions of dollars through smuggling fees.
