Look at the left hand column (swipe right if on mobile) and see your name in the lower left corner of your screen. Click the gear icon to set your voice method and volume levels for input and output. This area of setup usually requires a bit of talk through, but once you have learned this, please help train the next wave of volunteers who come in right behind you. This is how your skills develop and natural leaders emerge.

In our voice areas we usually select the Push To Talk setting. This helps curb background noises when button is not pushed. We recommend you use headphone also to prevent speaker feedback. Build good habits now as we try to up our game with the goal of a team of skilled professional sounding volunteers. Just us, but cool sounding 😎

Go back to Who’s Here view, click any name (with green or orange light) to Direct Message if you have a question or find yourselves in here alone or lost. ☝️

Thank you. My fist assignment in CBTS Discord was vetting each new member and in IBOR and NameAndShame this type talk through had the new crew running themselves in about four hours 😁

2018-04-04 00:00:22 UTC

You nailed it brother!

2018-04-04 00:00:32 UTC

2018-04-04 00:01:04 UTC

2018-04-04 00:01:07 UTC

Channel settings up top

2018-04-04 00:02:25 UTC

Yes, we just used the at @ sign to get newbies in here next after Welcome entry, but the best example is to limit use.

2018-04-04 00:02:39 UTC

Agreed

2018-04-04 00:03:06 UTC

Agreed also !!!

2018-04-04 00:05:31 UTC

Cosmic can actually limit or disable that. Yes, click the Testbed title on upper left hand corner to set your notification level. Do NOT click leave server to sign off for the day. This will literally kick you out of this Discord and you’ll have to re-enter all over again! LOL

2018-04-04 00:05:45 UTC

Android app Notification Fix (Clear or Reduce Notifications) -
1) Select desired server from left-side.
2) Select three-line menu icon located upper-left of screen.
3) Select server listed. Drag up from selected server-name shown at bottom of screen.
4) Select Notifications on menu listed & select desired option; All Messages, [Only @mention], Nothing, Suppress @everyone and @here, or disable Mobile Push Notifications.
6) Select Back Arrow when done.

*Select "Nothing" Option ", & Deselect "Mobile Push Notifications" by tapping on it once, respectively if no notifications are desired.

Those should help as well @Deleted User

2018-04-04 00:07:03 UTC

Great job @An0n_American

2018-04-04 00:07:19 UTC

Any time

2018-04-04 00:10:46 UTC

@CosmiC10R can you change the server setting to mentions Only?

2018-04-04 00:11:00 UTC

@Gab.ai/cannuker777 yes, but you can click the ‘Testbed’ Discord title on upper left hand corner and set your notifications there to All, @ or None. This will keep us all sane.

2018-04-04 00:12:57 UTC

Yes, I was getting the bot notifications every grab of Fox News, etc. a couple dozen at least hahaha

2018-04-04 00:18:12 UTC

Once you enter the ‘help desk voice’ channel, plus this <#430201855172280360> room or channel, you can practice chat and text simultaneously. Links and sauce can be posted in this space (text) while ongoing voice questions and answers carry on live. Learn to watch both. In 24-7 Soapbox Livestream our researchers drop links, Q posts, etc., while the voice is ongoing.

Okay, volunteers, if we could write a summary of our tips today, including vids, and post in new channel <#430892996716920852> for a more permanent reference to get our newcomers oriented and up to speed. We will not chat in there, just these basic tips to send anyone and everyone for 101 training tips. This channel scrolls off so that will be our how-to repository. Thank you all, great prep work today!

2018-04-04 01:03:01 UTC

I can pin now, but many of my ‘paragraphs’ above were actually 6 posts long. I can rewrite and pin, except newbies often never click the red pushpin, but will do both. Marise, you are key asset here and I thank you! 👍 for bringing your experience and links!

do you know how to save a web site

2018-04-04 01:46:50 UTC

@KrisHunter have not used but one can submit an url that you suspect might disappear to an archive website and it will save the website there, if that helps. I don’t know the archive link, anyone? I think @she7anon and others have posted it before.

2018-04-04 01:48:15 UTC

If you click the little dots on the upper right of the browser is should allow you to save a page or download as a pdf. I've done both. Depends on the browser. @KrisHunter
