Ok

2018-08-16 16:58:36 UTC

The latter option implies the immigrant will be more likely to integrate than the former?

2018-08-16 16:59:29 UTC

it's hard to give an accurate answer because we don't know how different the highly skilled and educated immigrant is from you and your country's culture and traditions, and we don't know how low skilled the immigrant that is like like minded and similar to you is

2018-08-16 16:59:37 UTC

Yes, let's phrase it this way:

Would you rather have an Anglo immigrate to America or a well educated German move there?

2018-08-16 17:00:33 UTC

a skilled immigrant obviously

2018-08-16 17:00:35 UTC

I'd stick to the German

2018-08-16 17:00:40 UTC

long term he will be more useful

2018-08-16 17:00:47 UTC

if he's willing to help the nation that is

2018-08-16 17:00:54 UTC

I'd rather have the Anglo

2018-08-16 17:01:02 UTC

Bcause he is more like me

2018-08-16 17:01:03 UTC

America is no longer anglo

2018-08-16 17:02:28 UTC

If the guy's educated enough sooner or later he'll understand it'd an easier if he adapts than if he tries to adapt society

2018-08-16 17:02:49 UTC

No, but it is an English speaking nation with a legal system that borrows from that of the British.

2018-08-16 17:03:04 UTC

I don't care as as long as they're European stock

2018-08-16 17:03:43 UTC

if there illegal they shouldnt even be here so

2018-08-16 17:03:50 UTC

if the choice is between an anglo and a german you might as well pick the highly skilled one since it's not _that_ big of a difference in terms or culture and so on

2018-08-16 17:04:23 UTC

also there are more americans of german decent than anglo decent iirc so the german would fit better in that an anglo anyway

2018-08-16 17:04:25 UTC

I mean, the problem with current immigration is the new immigrants are mostly uneducated and therefore more reluctant to adapt to a more civilized country

2018-08-16 17:05:25 UTC

@Harald Not really because it's still mostly Anglo culture, philosophy and language

2018-08-16 17:05:39 UTC

All the Jerries assimilated

2018-08-16 17:06:12 UTC

I think it would be better to make it a choice between an low skilled Anglo immigrant and a high skilled Mexican immigrant

2018-08-16 17:06:21 UTC

make it a bigger cultural contrast

2018-08-16 17:07:28 UTC

ANGLO

2018-08-16 17:33:34 UTC

@V-NAF_Aardist I lived in Vermont up until the age of 13

2018-08-16 17:33:45 UTC

After that I moved to Maine

2018-08-16 17:33:53 UTC

I lived in Maine till I was 22

2018-08-16 17:34:00 UTC

Been in Colorado ever since

2018-08-16 17:34:06 UTC

Hard to find jobs in Vermont

2018-08-16 17:34:11 UTC

Beautiful state

2018-08-16 17:34:27 UTC

But very high taxes, low growth and no jobs

2018-08-16 17:38:05 UTC

Also you just got terrible gun laws

2018-08-16 17:38:09 UTC

Slapped on you

2018-08-16 17:38:24 UTC

You have a socialist senator and one that’s half alive

2018-08-16 17:38:49 UTC

Maine is more homogeneous than Vermont

2018-08-16 17:39:40 UTC

Slightly

2018-08-16 17:40:06 UTC

Maine and NH have some growth

2018-08-16 17:41:54 UTC

Damn, gun laws were the thing that set Vermont apart from the rest of the blue states

2018-08-16 17:42:14 UTC

That and being basically an ethnostate

2018-08-16 17:46:14 UTC

Maybe to make it more interesting, have the choice between a high skilled Russian and an anglo, because most here would choose the white immigrant over a high skilled non white, but I guess it works that way, too

2018-08-16 17:47:28 UTC

As long as they're not a filthy Communist I don't mind Eastern Euros either

2018-08-16 17:47:35 UTC

Shut up
