@Kosaki is obviously a troll

2018-08-23 18:34:47 UTC

My main fear is that UBI would basically go into effect, the stupid poor would waste it all, and cry for another rent/food subsidy scheme, and then we're stuck with an even more expensive system.

2018-08-23 18:34:50 UTC

I am not, I love post irony

2018-08-23 18:35:18 UTC

Which I think is very likely in the USA/UK/Germany (soon)

2018-08-23 18:35:50 UTC

Denmark if given an extremely strict immigration policy that restricted 1st gen migrants and even 2nd gen, would work alright with UBI

2018-08-23 18:35:51 UTC

Waste it all on what? the newest iphone?

2018-08-23 18:35:55 UTC

Yeah

2018-08-23 18:36:00 UTC

they'd spend the months UBI on an iphone

2018-08-23 18:36:01 UTC

then starve

2018-08-23 18:36:03 UTC

I dont think the poor in those developed countries are stupid at all

2018-08-23 18:36:04 UTC

or not pay rent

2018-08-23 18:36:12 UTC

Most have basic education

2018-08-23 18:36:20 UTC

People who are poor all their life are dumb

2018-08-23 18:36:26 UTC

people who are poor for a year are unlucky

2018-08-23 18:36:35 UTC

Just the ones who didnt go to school

2018-08-23 18:36:48 UTC

They're dumb because they became educated in a worthless field

2018-08-23 18:37:07 UTC

And even then, you can drop out and make a successful career

2018-08-23 18:37:12 UTC

Yeah true

2018-08-23 18:37:14 UTC

PHD = dumb

2018-08-23 18:37:16 UTC

Yeap

2018-08-23 18:37:19 UTC

2018-08-23 18:37:24 UTC

PhD = couldn't get a job with bachelors or masters or hs diploma

2018-08-23 18:37:29 UTC

bachelors = default

2018-08-23 18:37:35 UTC

masters = couldn't get a job with bachelors

2018-08-23 18:37:58 UTC

Me in a few years

2018-08-23 18:38:03 UTC

not really tho

2018-08-23 18:38:07 UTC

Most associates/bachelors/masters/PhDs are actually BAD for you

2018-08-23 18:38:14 UTC

if you apply to a fucking job with an associates in arts or something

2018-08-23 18:38:19 UTC

they'll just assume you're gonna leave later

2018-08-23 18:39:05 UTC

gets progressively worse

2018-08-23 18:39:40 UTC

depends on the job

2018-08-23 18:39:47 UTC

I think UBI for a limited period could work very well

2018-08-23 18:40:01 UTC

Swiss do this

2018-08-23 18:40:13 UTC

You get a stipend if you go to uni or training for an in demand skill

2018-08-23 18:40:25 UTC

Say welding, during the 6 months training you get paid by the gov

2018-08-23 18:42:40 UTC

As of now your success during the first 4 years of your life at 18(if going to uni) is almost entirely dependent on your family's wealth/stability

2018-08-23 18:46:46 UTC

Opps lol

2018-08-23 18:49:06 UTC

@21tagtmeiern I think most employers besides large corporations look at anything that isn't STEM or specific career training (nursing, etc.) as a liability

2018-08-23 18:49:43 UTC

well yeah if you get a phd you wanna work in that field

2018-08-23 18:49:45 UTC

I know my grandfather hires computer science/STEM grads for programming jobs
