Lol not even close

2018-09-06 21:59:02 UTC

The fact that you have to convince people of an objective morality shows there is no objective.

2018-09-06 21:59:14 UTC

That it is fluid and dynamic.

2018-09-06 21:59:34 UTC

We can argue about fact of whether there is a god or not, the fact there is a disagreement doesn't make God's existence subjective

2018-09-06 22:00:04 UTC

God's existence is not subjective.

2018-09-06 22:00:05 UTC

You don't need to agree on an objective truth for it to be objective

2018-09-06 22:00:22 UTC

It is objective, as Good exists, or does not exist.

2018-09-06 22:00:47 UTC

And the objective reality is that there is no way to know for certain.

2018-09-06 22:00:58 UTC

That is what faith is.

2018-09-06 22:01:09 UTC

i mean imo unless there’s indisputable evidence to back something up then it’s subjective

2018-09-06 22:01:29 UTC

so from my point of view god’s existance would be subjective

2018-09-06 22:01:36 UTC

@ham addition that's not how objectivity works

2018-09-06 22:02:37 UTC

Though

2018-09-06 22:02:51 UTC

You could say that all systems is morality are objective.

2018-09-06 22:03:10 UTC

Subjectivity means there is no right answer. Objectivity means there is a right answer, whether we know what the right answer is or not

2018-09-06 22:03:22 UTC

No.

2018-09-06 22:04:12 UTC

It means that a person's judgment based on facts can not be swayed by opinion, or feeling.

2018-09-06 22:04:51 UTC

So if there were facts to support both arguments, both could be objective. By the definition of the word.

2018-09-06 22:06:21 UTC

Then it is a matter of who is more right.

2018-09-06 22:08:00 UTC

i mean you can’t really solidly prove that god exists with facts, all we can go off is opinions

2018-09-06 22:08:29 UTC

I wouldn't call Faith an opinion.

2018-09-06 22:09:08 UTC

subjective

2018-09-06 22:09:20 UTC

@Summī Imperator, 呪い殿 faith is an opinion

2018-09-06 22:09:24 UTC

Definition of objective

1a : relating to or existing as an object of thought without consideration of independent existence —used chiefly in medieval philosophy

b : of, relating to, or being an object, phenomenon, or condition in the realm of sensible experience independent of individual thought and perceptible by all observers :having reality independent of the mind objective reality

2018-09-06 22:09:27 UTC

if its not opinion, its fact

2018-09-06 22:09:54 UTC

and we all know faith isnt fact

2018-09-06 22:10:15 UTC

no matter how hard you believe in it, we dont use god in science or mathematics

2018-09-06 22:10:48 UTC

yes

2018-09-06 22:11:32 UTC

A search for what God is, is what sent us down the path of discovery.

2018-09-06 22:11:54 UTC

^

2018-09-06 22:11:57 UTC

k what’s the connection

2018-09-06 22:12:03 UTC

A hunger for knowledge of why it is that God did what he did.

2018-09-06 22:12:16 UTC

Which lead to philosophy, which lead to modern science.

2018-09-06 22:15:07 UTC

Now we argue over what is right, or wrong, and gauge how right something is compared to another.

2018-09-06 22:15:16 UTC

Morality is objective, meaning it has a truth element outside of the mind. Moral systems are constructs built off of that objective truth

2018-09-06 22:16:29 UTC

I don't think there is anything in modern morality that is "outside the mind".

2018-09-06 22:17:40 UTC

Perhaps if I saw somebody struck by lightning out of a blue sky for doing something immoral, then there would be proof of an objective morality.

2018-09-06 22:18:27 UTC

Sure there are, things like degeneracy and the negative effect it has on those people and their society.

2018-09-06 22:18:59 UTC

Why must the consequences be immediate and obvious?

2018-09-06 22:19:00 UTC

An agreed upon set of ethics and decisions on what is more right won't sway me. I think there is justification for morality, but no true morality that presides above the rest.

2018-09-06 22:21:14 UTC

‘degeneracy’ is one of the most subjective things out there
