The United Nations and the European Union are both actively trying to punish nations such as Italy and Hungary that seek to protect their borders from mass, uncontrolled immigration. They are going after democratically elected politicians such as Matteo Salvini because they want to uphold their nation's right to choose who comes into their border.

How should these nations respond, and how can they defend themselves? Italy is going to pull funding from the UN, but will it be effective? What else should they do?
