Nation isnt really that arbitrary or vague, when the definition is put to paper it usually is defined with culture in mind and a group that identifies with said culture, but culture is based with ethnicity and as such heritage and common ancestry is implied. Which simply means that you have defined a set group with set values etc. Its actually a very well defined term, and can be used to huge benefit.
@L0GAN There is a difference between nation and land, chinese beyond the boarders of china are part of the chinese nation. However the area they live on is not china.
Saddam Hussein, well it depends on the ancestry of said people. Generally some countries have multiple nations (ethnicities) within them, and this translates to conflict over trying to gain power.
America is complicated, it is if anything the exception to the rule however this is also not entirely true. You have plenty of original diasporas living in the US that are pure ethnic, pure nationals say from germany, england and Poland or genetically are almost pure. These are quite large pockets and im willing to bet that a majority of americans are actually a majority of one nation or another from the original continents. so Id say most likely 60% is majority (75+% pure) XYZ ethnic background. While this can be wrong as well. But I tend to find that this is usually the case at least with my stay on the west coast. America maybe used to be a nation with a complete set of land, but with the immigration act being passed and massive influx of migration earlier, we see the issue of the original nation being set aside. Id say the original american nation controls maybe (by population density) some 60-70% of the land of the US.
@everyone Daily Question đź”–
Is Kavanaugh guilty? Are Ford's allegations credible? Is Kavanaugh a good pick for the Supreme Court?
No, No, Probably
No, No, and I don't care anymore.
No, no, please end society
^
No, No and Probably the best one for the SC.
Its honestly a meme at this point
He seems like he is a genuinely good guy, not sure if he's going to remain strong enough to handle the corruption up in DC but once he gets confirmed, the FISA documents should be unclassified.
Are they even trying?
The GOP should've confirmed this man long ago.
yes, yes, no
No, No, Idc
a) i don’t know and i don’t think anyone will ever know for certain unless there is absolutely concrete bulletproof evidence
b) i’d say yes personally
c) absolutely not
If you don't immediately report a rape then you should be charged
Did you see the hearing?
Have you seen Ford's testimony?
No way Ford's allegations are true. It's all a circus act to stop Kavanaugh at all costs
you’re assuming that rape is just something that people get over like it was nothing and not a traumatic experience that people feel ashamed and embarrassed to talk about
i think ford's testimony is definitely credible
yeah
but like
i'm pretty sure statute of limitations means he's not guilty of anything
i don't think he's a good pick for scotus
he's qualified, but i think he's lying which is bad
i’m also not assuming that kavanaugh is guilty though since i haven’t actually heard his recollection of the events yet
the biggest problem with this situation imo is that people are going in with an assumption that the person closer to their political views is going to be right and telling the truth
No No Yes
either way such a massive scandal is not a good look at all before he’s even got the job yet
There is no credible evidence
None.
"scandal"
It's a witch Hunt
not really mutually exclusive but okay
I'm sure Catholic priests love all of you
@ham addition why do you think they always bring up these accusations right before an election/appointment? It is obvious this is all just a way to discredit the opposition without having to say or do anything meaningful
Or because they realize that if they don't speak up then, more people will be affected
I mean, it's a judge for heaven's sake
Regardless, she actually did speak up about it.
