Protecting your country isn't punishing anyone
Well, I'm going to distrust them until they become a problem.
It's a country's right
to exclude who it wants
A country need not allow people into it.
Sure, just like I need not save someone who's about to be run over by a train.
You can just enforce law
True.
It's kinda a shitty thing to do,but I don't *need* to do it.
Why would you?
You would be putting yourself at risk for potentially no reward.
If I could easily do it with minimal risk to myself, then because of basic human empathy
Saving someone else is a reward in and of itself.
For example supreme general duterte is under an ongoing war with criminals
Basic human empathy shouldn't need to be explained
Duterte is a criminal himself, ironically
You have to have an extremely high IQ to understand human empathy
Define criminal
So...
He straight up extra-judicially kills people, such as drug dealers
Not to mention the countless comments he's made encouraging war crimes
And rape...
I don't know enough about Duterte, I know he kills drug dealers and that he's an atheist (it was in the news recently)
but that's it
Drug dealing shouldn't be a capital offense...
No?
You don’t have to be racist
You can certainly make the case it should be
Just be duterte
If you cripple an entire section of a city with drugs, that would be forgivable?
But yeah, Duterte encouraged some soldiers under his command to commit war crimes
To be brutal, rather than to show empathy
Empathy towards your enemies will get you killed.
@SilverLining Could it not be considered an act of selflessness if you take away one person's life to save the lives of others?
Should an individual pay with their life for a non-lethal crime? No.
Also, do keep in mind
this is *extra-judicially*
Drugs can be lethal....
As in, they're not going through the court system
Heroin is deadly
