@IV LI V S Id think we have so many amatuer producers, and directors, since the industry has fallen it would open a massiv competetive field. People who were actors would be looking for work or even up and coming actors might see a chance and low budget yet greatly inspired films might come to be, crowd funding and all might come to be the method of choice for gettign thigns done. THe most succesful of these would eventually form their own hollywood of sorts.

Ive seen some excellent very low budget films made in the past, some with people working for free, and the movies have been absolutely stunning. With the tech we have today, for editing and special effects getting people together to make something isnt that difficult. I made a decent movie with 4 people, its only 7 min and lacks something i really wanted in it, but considering the little time and how chaotic it all was, the end product and how good that product was, it really is suprising what you can do.

I guess I have less faith than you in crowdfunding as a basis for industry

2018-12-26 13:45:17 UTC

One film made for free is the warhammer 40k animation, made by one guy, its i think 10 min long and litearlly almost, almost movie studio quality. Another movie was warhammer 40k live action and it was ltiearlly also almost studio quality. (It was low budget tho)

the 40k anim:

The other movie:

2018-12-26 13:45:59 UTC

give any of these guys 40k crowdfunded and youd get somethign amazing. (alternatively you get investors)

2018-12-26 13:46:31 UTC

I guess that works for franchise work, but original concepts are much less viable to crowdfund

2018-12-26 13:46:47 UTC

the existing franchise mania would be made worse if anything

2018-12-26 13:47:28 UTC

I'd also worry about the fact that big budget movies studios are the main source of funding for good modern orchestral music

2018-12-26 13:50:37 UTC

true, well there is good modern orchestral music but you need an archestra, TSFH is a good source, dont know any other composers that work with good orchestral music in modernity

There is also an idea for new movies, but those would also require a lot of passion, generally wed see a lot of amateur movies, ambitious ones and then some would come to dominate and those creators would eventually form the new hollywood elite

2018-12-26 13:50:51 UTC

eventually probably working onmultiple projects with new independant dircetros etc.

2018-12-26 13:51:07 UTC

id think the earliest days would be the only ones working with crowdfunding

2018-12-26 13:51:55 UTC

Real question is, Jin-Roh armor or 40k armor?

2018-12-26 13:52:05 UTC

jin roh

2018-12-26 13:52:15 UTC

there is no question

2018-12-26 13:52:54 UTC

Should I make a fully functioning suit of jin roh armor with real ballistic protection?

2018-12-26 13:54:30 UTC

the real chad design of the jin roh armor is that there is no ballistic protection

2018-12-26 13:54:37 UTC

nothing reliable at least

2018-12-26 13:55:22 UTC

it stops bullets, that's even shown with them glancing of the side of the helmet.

2018-12-26 13:55:42 UTC

I mean by its apparent design

2018-12-26 13:56:32 UTC

it's too bulky to go prone in and it is mostly leather with some ballistic plates stuck on

2018-12-26 13:56:55 UTC

a man should not be able to withstand fire in it

2018-12-26 13:57:28 UTC

then we improve it without sacrificing the full body protection

2018-12-26 13:58:05 UTC

modern plate carriers really are the best you can do with existing tech

2018-12-26 13:59:02 UTC

if you want to tank thru fire standing or kneeling you would need more and heavier armor which would require a powered exoskeleton of some kind

2018-12-26 13:59:19 UTC

and then you just get AT missiled

2018-12-26 13:59:49 UTC

looks good

2018-12-26 14:00:08 UTC

but if those armor pieces were made of ballistic ceramic they would weigh over 100 pounds

2018-12-26 14:00:17 UTC

looks fully flexible to me

2018-12-26 14:00:27 UTC

ceramic is shit

2018-12-26 14:00:31 UTC

?

2018-12-26 14:00:33 UTC

steel is where its at

2018-12-26 14:00:45 UTC

I've got tier 3 steel plates

2018-12-26 14:00:45 UTC

RHO was made obsolete decades ago

2018-12-26 14:01:09 UTC

Ceramic breaks upon impact though, a few shots and your armor is gone

2018-12-26 14:01:59 UTC

how heavy is tier 3 steel chest plate

2018-12-26 14:02:07 UTC

14 lbs

2018-12-26 14:02:15 UTC

yow

2018-12-26 14:02:22 UTC

its ar500 steel

2018-12-26 14:03:10 UTC

it's not that noticeable while wearing it, I've gone on some log jogs just to get used to it.

2018-12-26 14:04:24 UTC

the armor most definitely would be heavy, but I think you can train with it to be strong enough.

2018-12-26 14:05:05 UTC

I'm sure you could, and it would be viable for an inserted force that did not need to carry much gear
