Populism is also degenerate. The people, the mob, do not have the will or the capability of *each* of them guiding themselves. It is a HUGE responsibility and the notion that the average person is going to exercise extreme iron will and goodly motivations is a fool's game of chance. It's the same reason protestantism is not a good idea in execution but only in theory. If all the burden lies in the individual and the entire system relies on a coalesced majority of the most righteous and responsible, whatever the ideology is, it is doomed to fall. First, where are individuals educated and produced if the burden of discovery and reformation among other things is left up to each person. Where it is taught, reinforced, perfected if it is just like scattered leaves in the wind? This is what you do when you leave a system in control of whoever is willing to step up.
