Marriage is a RELIGIOUS ceremony,
you can get the same legal results,
in a civil partnership.
Which doesn't hold religious value.
@PrinceFlamingo yea
@TheOneRJB good! Then we chill dawg
Marriage isn't religious
They're unions that exist in many cultures
And generally, particularly in europe, was an institution for fathers to basically sell their daughters
@PrinceFlamingo as long as they don't effect the culture negatively
But there's also religious gay folk who want to be married
And want it to be an official marriage
Why won’t they legalize it in the Middle East then?
Oh wait they get thrown off buildings there.
I disagree, but barring folks from something like that based on things they can't control is unnecessary discrimination
^
So then why not just let gays get married?
It goes against religion.
Infact most religions, if not all, are against homosexuality via their philosophy.
Not all religious people have an issue with it
People interpret the bible differently
I'm saying using religion as a barrier against gay marriage is weak
Marriage holds a religious value, "That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh." Genesis 2:24
If homosexuals want to have something equal to marriage,
have a civil partnership.
If the religious gays want a marriage,
they should understand what their faith entails for their sexuality.
But different churches have different interpretations
Because there are different denominations.
Plenty of churches are all for gay marriage
In which country?
Why not just make it legal for gay people to be married and let them sort it out with specific churches
I'm in the US but i don't see how that matters
Denomination matters.
Different churches don't have different beliefs, denominations have different beliefs.
So you'd need to find an LGBT accepting denomination.
I mean yeah but that's not an issue the law should play a part in
Actually, different churches do have different beliefs. That's why Anglicanism is basically dead. They can't decide what they believe or not.
I’m sick of the “Bake the fucking cake bigot” shit
If marriage is just, like, a legal card and a church ceremony, why not make it legal for gay people to be legally married and sort out a ceremony with their designated church
Hm, maybe.
