How did Chris Christie get elected in New Jersey as a Republican?
iirc the governor before him sucked harder
Is there is no normal way for a Republican to win State Wide there?
when it comes to state politics party is less important
nowadays I don't think so
the Rs are good at getting governorships
I think the governor of Vermont is actually R
Yeah that is true. And so is the Governor of Maryland.
Vermont, Massachusetts, Maine, Maryland, New Hampshire, Illinois, and New Mexico
There are 33 Republican governors.
We need to really increase that to like 35, in order to attain a supermajority of states.
(This is necessary for a variety of things like Congressional term limits etc.)
Republicans won blue States because conservatives were energized and angry at Obama
Based on my data,
the GOP could actually win in Connecticut
not any house seats,
but the Governorship is quite vulnerable
Indeed.
I think the future of the GOP in a large extent may be the northeast and MN, as the ethnic vote comes more and more polarized, I think eventually there'll be an effect reminiscent to what happened in West Virginia and the Rust Belt in general.
