basically, a quick rundown on New York Politics

(New York Left)

Moderate/Neoliberal affluent types (Hillary Clinton Democrats) - educated (usually highly educated; work high paying jobs), jewish/white/asian; some of these tend to look down on Bernie Sanders progressives as "living in la-la land"; some of them are the type to get butthurt at Sanders types and Green Party types in the same way that some Trump supporters view people like @🎃Boo-ton🎃

Bernie Sanders Progressives - either poorly educated or college kid or highly educated and working in academia, in contrast to the highly educated but working in the private sector types who support Hillary more; young minorities who are more 'woke' than their parents who just support Hillary because they know who she is more than Bernie; young 'Brocialist' types who aren't deeply into the SJW stuff but are still on the left; hardcore SJW types who support Bernie because they view him as the purer candidate (to sum up their sentiment, they say "I support Bernie because he is the better candidate, but I still defend Hillary from sexist criticism";

minorities who aren't really ideologically aligned other than the fact that they value welfare and other government programs and perceive the Democrats as the party of non-whites (this is the backbone of the Democrats and they're the main reason that Hillary won in the New York closed primaries)

third party / independent / radical socialists / communists -- some of these are Lyndon LaRouche types; some of these are ANTIFA types; some work in academia; some are druggies

the moderate Hillary Clinton Democrats are the ones mainly in control, thanks to support from rich donors and the large minority base; there is some pandering to the Bernie Sanders Progressive side and SJWs though

the far left types tend to just do their own thing and aren't treated seriously by people outside their niche

(New York Right)

normal religious people / white working class - some are former Democrats who feel disenfranchised by their party, some value socially conservative positions, some are particularly religious; you can find these at some areas in NYC and you can find a lot of them in Staten Island and Long Island and Upstate NY

wacky religious people / conspiracy theorists- some of these are minorities; I know one who is similar to @🎃Boo-ton🎃 and follows this one guy named Pastor David Manning and claimed she was "off the Trump train" because Trump congratulated Macron after he won; talks a lot of shit about 'Muzzies'; I think she still kinda supports Trump though, along with this flat-earther Jewish kid I know who also follows Pastor Manning

libertarians - some voted for Gary Johnson, some voted for Trump

/pol/lack types / redditfag anti-SJW types... young people who particularly dislike SJW bullshit they run into in their day-to-day lives; some crossover with libertarians; some are white nationalist types; some are into other "far right" philosophies

oh, and the majority of Republican Party / Conservative Party voters are from the normal religious people / white working class group

hell, the other right wing groups are kinda negligible in terms of voting numbers

Mike Enoch and Laura Loomer might have somewhat of an impact on the wider world, but no one in the New York Republican or Conservative parties particulary cares about them

anyway, the large minority population, coupled with the large white/jewish liberal urbanite population, along with big money Hillary Clinton types, are the reason NY is so blue

the way I see it potentially going red is if you motivate as many people in the (New York Right) groups I listed to turnout, coupled an increase in minority support, coupled with more whites abandoning the left (which is happening, and I've seen it happen in person), coupled with some big money support
