we need her in office in order to signal to moderate Democrats nationwide that they need to jump ship

also, don't underestimate the Berniecrats

they will generate more turnout in some areas

I'm sure there are quite a few millennial TYT type lefties who would stay home for Crowley but turn out in droves for Ocasio-Cortez, which will effect the state level races

Oh, I don't mean to beat her but to present a national image of a reasonable alternative being rejected in favour of the extreme left. In so doing, it will signal to the country that the Democrats have well and truly shifted to the far left and is no longer a bastion for the moderate minded.
