more!

2018-03-14 20:08:19 UTC

Lamb was much younger and higher energy than Saccone which looked like a relic comparatively

2018-03-14 20:08:29 UTC

Plus Lamb was a former Marine

2018-03-14 20:10:41 UTC

The White Party is going to have to cut some sacred cows of Muh GOP. If it's going to survive, it's going to have to adopt strong measures of support for Working Class Whites. That means stopping immigration - legal & illegal - obviously Also means ensuring OSHA, WC, Pensions

2018-03-14 20:11:48 UTC

The dipshit Rick Saccone lost because he didn't go to bat for coal miners' pensions. Think of it. Taking the pensions away from coal miners. That is the Paul Ryan GOP.

2018-03-14 20:13:28 UTC

Muh libertarian small gov conservativism is dead. Whatever chance it had was lost in the flood of immigration. Triage. If you wanna save any of the traditional rights of Englishmen, you gonna need to accept some form of collective well being. Because we have to transcend class

2018-03-14 20:17:11 UTC

Republicans vaguely waving their hands around and talking about tax cuts are kidding themselves by ignoring this. Economic populism, civic nationalism, immigration restriction, no entitlement cuts. This isn't rocket science. Conservatism Inc. is dead. Move on.

2018-03-14 20:19:41 UTC

What if every senator and representative over the age of 60 just randomly died on the same day because of God?

2018-03-14 20:38:18 UTC

@🎃Boo-ton🎃 Don't you mean Neo-Conservative inc is dead?

2018-03-14 20:38:29 UTC

Yeah

2018-03-14 20:39:10 UTC

Modern day conservatism isn't even really that conservative.

2018-03-14 20:39:19 UTC

Very few "conservatives" are paleoconservative.

2018-03-14 20:39:31 UTC

Today's conservatives are yesterday's liberals

2018-03-14 20:39:37 UTC

Yup.

2018-03-14 20:39:46 UTC

Did the military ballots come in?

2018-03-14 20:39:52 UTC

wait it out

2018-03-14 20:39:52 UTC

For PA-18?

2018-03-14 20:40:07 UTC

Reddit is saying Lamb won in an upset.

2018-03-14 20:40:17 UTC

@Pielover19 the NRCC is filing a lawsuit to check for voter fraud

2018-03-14 20:40:18 UTC

That it's official.

2018-03-14 20:40:34 UTC

I still think Lamb will win, however

2018-03-14 20:40:48 UTC

as I predicted a week ago

2018-03-14 20:41:14 UTC

although, I imagined Saccone or Lamb would be within 2-3 points of victory, not 1 point

2018-03-14 20:42:44 UTC

It's more like 0.2 points.

2018-03-14 20:43:05 UTC

More of an upset for Saccone, considering the polling.

2018-03-14 20:43:20 UTC

Trump gave him a bump to make it competitive.

2018-03-14 20:44:13 UTC

To be fair to those business Republicans, they are useful for Governerships in blue states.

2018-03-14 20:44:30 UTC

Like Marlyand, Massachusetts, etc.

How did Lamb pull off a (probable) victory in a Trump +20 seat? Dems turned out at 79% of 2016 votes. GOP just 53%. Data:

Lamb votes as % of Clinton total votes:
78.5%

Saccone votes as % of Trump total:
52.5%

Lamb as % of Obama total:
79.4%

Saccone as % of Romney:
55.8%

2018-03-14 21:52:07 UTC

We need R turnout.

2018-03-14 21:55:24 UTC

@jpc1976 me and many others were following this race since months ago. From what we could tell, Saccone was sitting on his ass expecting to coast by on voter demographics while Lamb was busting his ass meeting as many voters as possible, while stressing that he is going to be a conservative-ish pro-worker Democrat who is independent of Nancy Pelosi

2018-03-14 21:56:45 UTC

Honestly Lamb deserves the victory at this point. Even though I may not agree with the party he actually put effort into his campaign which makes me have respect for him

2018-03-14 22:03:23 UTC

@GermanEastAfrica And he was a terrific candidate who I believe will become president one day. This man has JFK-tier optics. Friendly face, family man, postures himself as a moderate, tried and tested opponent of the opioid crisis and a force for moderation in a political climate nostalgic for past political stability.

2018-03-14 22:03:44 UTC

He's a dangerous fellow for people of our political disposition.

2018-03-14 22:04:03 UTC

And the military background helps with the veteran connection
