This sentiment is specific to the WWC and the WWC only
as it was clear that White College Grads walked away from Trump
Despite this, Trump was able to win because White Working Class voters went out in droves to vote for him
WWC Americans are 33% of the US adult population,
but made up 44% of the electorate in 2016
not only that,
in 2012, Obama won 36% of this subgroup
4 years later, Clinton only received 28%
However, it wasn't only WWC enthusiasm that won Trump the WH,
it was the fact Democrats weren't energized for Hillary
Obviously, Black voters were not going to show up for her like they did for Obama
and many Democrats were convinced Clinton would win, so they didn't show up to vote for her
It was the perfect combination of enthusiasm among the right subgroups
the question is,
can we repeat this same formula in 2020?
I believe for now,
we should assume we cannot
even if,
we manage to satisfy the White Working Class,
by cleansing small towns of Non-Whites,
that didn't show up in 2016,
and are going to show up in 2020
they don't take the same chance they did before
where I'm getting at is,
we need to win over a new subgroup
the base needs to grow in order to be safe for 2020
White College Grads/Soccer Moms/Suburbanites are one possiblity
They swung away from Trump,
not because of his policy,
but his rhetoric
I'm not suggesting Trump should transform into a sophistic
far from it,
Hell, his politically incorrect no-filter approach is what makes him popular among the base
Trump has to somehow mold White Grads
alter them into the mindset of the White Working Class
Such a radical transformation of a subgroup is difficult, but not impossible
If time has shown anything, it's that values can flip, and flip rapidly
One of the reasons that College Whites don't share the same level of racial animosity as Non-College Whites,
is because many, don't live with them
The reason Whites in the Midwest shifted so hard to the right in 2016 was because the rapid diversification of the region in the last 15 years
