you don't have to major in Political Science to get into politics
^this
@Rhodesiaboo Don't. Don't do liberal arts!
Look up different degrees and look at the employment rate and salary
Polit-Sci, even with noble intentions, is not six figure territory unless you run for office
And even then, there is tremendous risk
You could lose your job based on what the public thinks
Polysci is just a useless degree as a whole. One of my cousins graduated with that major but immediately needed to take another path.
If anyone here isn’t in college yet or is only a few years in and you’re majoring in something that won’t get you many job prospects:
-change major
-take a trade
-drop out of college altogether and get savvy
@The Eternal Armenian S T E M, don't do lib arts, it's run by (((Them)))
I’m a crim major.
But I can also just as easily drop out of college and get a job.
I should’ve done STEM or a trade, but I feel it’s a little late.
I'm a junior, I have plenty of time
I’m 24, so..
I’m thinking long term realizing I only have 2 options left.
Continue and finish, or drop out and get savvy.
There is a third option: Crime
Read Siege, burn my house down and move to Belize?
@The Eternal Armenian No. Don't just burn any house, steal a plane and crash into the House of Representatives
READ SIEGE
I made the mistake of being a psychology major. I did drop out and just get a job but to be fair I'm doing probably the same kind of work I would be stuck with since a bachelor's in psychology is kind of useless
I’m an Electrical Engineering major, best decision I’ve made in my life.
I had psych last semester and had to always resist the urge of outing myself as an open Nazi.
My dream is to take Comp Sci at Carnegie Mellon University and leave working for a highly acredited company
you can imagine the weirdos I had in my class when I took Psychology of Sex
good lord
Industrial/Organizational Psychology was kind of useful and a lot of it I use in my current job.
abnormal psychology was a shit show of my classmates sharing stories about their personal problems
"My dream is to take Comp Sci at Carnegie Mellon University and leave working for a highly acredited company(edited)"
@Earl of Morrrrgantown interesting, I know a guy who did that. Have you started doing Comp Sci yet
>Industrial/Organizational Psychology was kind of useful and a lot of it I use in my current job.
@fhtagn what did you learn in it that you use in your current job
@Julien Blanc I'm taking it in the 2nd half of the school year. Next year, I'm taking AP Comp Sci A
I already know how to make a similar looking website such as redstorm2018 with NotePad++ and some time. But...I'm also taking courses on different "real" programming languages, like C++ and C#
>I already know how to make a similar looking website such as redstorm2018 with NotePad++
ah, html and CSS
a lot of the useful stuff for best management practices and looked at what best motivates employees
@Julien Blanc Its not impressive. I get that. But I self taught myself that in about a few hours
that's pretty good actually
I'm not diminishing it lol
😆
Poli sci isn't too bad, under the right circumstances. If you have great grades, went to an ivy, or become an officer in the military then it works. If you don't then it's still better than the average liberal arts degree, but it's not going to land you many jobs.
