yes there are some evidences backed by archaeology
but it isn't majorly qualified to say be a historical source for example
Genesis is poorly translated
the word used for days in the creation doesn't mean day
it can mean era aswell
genesis
isn't the genesis creation story borrowed from the babylonian creation myth
the bible isnt historically accurate at all
and from some other creation stories of that time?
sure they are
most stories of the Bible are taken by nearby cultures
that's why I said "pretty accurate"
yeah
not completely
id say it's hardly accurate tbh
not even pretty
you have to know what to take as a myth and what not to
it isnt historically accurate at all
advance some evidence maybe?
but some loony christians blur the line between myth and fact
the Exodus, a few problems with it
first, the egyptians didnt use slave labor
other than the exodus?
partially correct
wait _what_?
Egyptians did use slaves for a slight period
they didnt use slave labor in their construction projects
sorry im not educated at all about ancient civilisation
true
so excuse the ignorance
you have to know that the pyramids for example weren't built by slaves
rather by well paid workers
the entire population of egyptian was a couple million, so 600,000 people leaving would be a bit obvious
i think it was about 1/5 the population
again
also the parting of the red sea? really?
ok, the jews didnt sweep into Israel and conquer it
they were already there
distances in the Bible are far off
we all know that
