--that is their "job" thats what they do! NOT your "OS" .. "antivirus programs" are in the FIELD of "security" -- thats all they DO! ... not like Windows or Apple etc, that have a MILLION things in their basket and are scatterbrains and dont know their asses from their elbows!

No it's not, their job is anti-virus. That's what they do, they try and detect viruses using a library already built.

They're not going to protect you from the relatively recent kernel exploit which required security updates

Some, like the *actual* adblock only hide it, they still run in the background
