Ohhhhhh
That's not good.
but doesnt mean the protest is a "proud boys" protest
Nope
Yeah..... I dont want to be involved with that.
Guilt by association can kill any group or movement
I'm not doxing anyone for the sake of anonymity and yes a long time friend who also went to school there and then moved and has lived in seaside. Yes there is people in seaside talking shit and wanting to counter protest . For the lady with proud boys and such her associates from school were SOME shady people from the backwoods of Oregon city and Redland not that she still keeps contact years after butttt
im on the fence about this whole thing personally, if the seaside residents were protesting, out there saying they wanted to open their stores and that they need the beach open for tourist income and such then %100 id be there
My whole thing is just protecting someone's right to protest. But at the same time I dont want to be involved with any questionable groups.
but from the outside looking in it appears as though its an instigator bringing people from outside seaside to protest something the locals currently support
@Anonymoose yeah I think regardless people should be able to speak their mind and exercise their rights
I am unsure how this would look for us on a national level but I think on a local state level this may cast a negative on us in the public eye

with the organiser having some standing with a group like the proud boys, I'd be a little hesitent to show up in force without doing some background research
if you can determine what sort of relationship is there, and if it is there, I guess one could make a descision
but i'm not going to advise support on this one
Would be good to have eyes there though of someone wanted a recon training and set up a lp/op
having eyes on site might be a good idea
though that might mean having some backup close by
or some evac at the least
I can run a good 3 miles in about half an hour if someone would bring me there and standby for quick evac lol
Have the recon team with a QRF on standby for evac. Monitor from a distance. Take lots of video and pictures
Especially of anyone that could be taken as a leader or figure head
Maybe a local that wants 3rd party viewing (us) brings me in day or two before and ill find a way to creep up for livestream
Don't get in the position of having to run anywhere. Have you exfil plan and execute it
Copy, will sit, watch, and report as I hear more development
While making insert/evac ideas for my next playerunknown game
can sit in a vic for you if you need
or qrf
Let's give it a day or two to see how things develop as word gets out before getting to into ideas but we appreciate it

> what are yalls opinions on this? I support reopening of the beach but at the same time it seems like the locals support the closure as its helping keep them safe from the virus... ?
@Boost Im actully in Seaside, not all the beach people want to stay shut down... a good number of business owners are wanting to open up. But not with a protest from portland...
And can say there is a lot of local chatter for a counter protest, mostly Karen types. Im literally watching the city council meeting as i type this. And the protest has already been a topic.
gotcha glad for the insight, was just talking to friend who lives there as well who said pretty much the same thing, she wants it to open but doesnt want the protest
Im watching the city council meeting right now on youtube, Live... Voting to open the beaches anytime from tomorrow, but most likely the 18th....
So It seems, any protest is going to muck things up, more then help...
to my understanding the county already submitted a request to reopen is that rue?
Submitted today, later then most other counties.
My boss is actually part of the local Seaside task force of business owners who brought a 9page proposal to city council last week
And they did just vote to open the beaches on the 18th... Which seems to be met about 50/50 by locals...
And a guy from the protest was part of the videowatch of the vote yes... So the protest knows the beaches are already open....Even less reason for out of towners to come protest where they arnt wanted/needed
No need to rush the beach folk. Shit if we boycott the first week or so of opening up(wouldn't happen) we could probably get some deals and them catering to us lol do you think they will call off the protest now?
