My beretta is a pencil chf chrome lined barrel. Never have heat issues, but it's a 2-3 moa gun and that's what it's made for.

2020-04-29 04:58:07 UTC

thats a piston gas system tho right?

2020-04-29 04:58:15 UTC

Planning on building a rifle for my fiance and I think i have the details worked out now

2020-04-29 04:58:22 UTC

Yes, short stroke.

2020-04-29 04:59:32 UTC

yeah. i havent actually trained on anything like that, ar's and ak's which both heat up faster

2020-04-29 04:59:46 UTC

id assume

2020-04-29 05:00:21 UTC

She's smol, and doesn't like concussion. I've got most of the parts already but it'll likely revolve around:
Faxon 11.5 gunner midlength with an adjustable gas block, faxon lightweight bcg, jp captured buffer, carbon fiber mlok rail, and noveske pig

2020-04-29 05:00:52 UTC

Small, light, low recoil, and a pig to push the blast away from her

2020-04-29 05:01:04 UTC

>noveske warpig

2020-04-29 05:01:07 UTC

mah man

2020-04-29 05:01:41 UTC

Recesses perfectly into the handguard I have

2020-04-29 05:01:45 UTC

I'm surprised how well they perform at both minimizing recoil and keepint blast away from the boys

2020-04-29 05:02:42 UTC

It heats up quick but the receiver is designed to dissipate heat very well. Dumping mags, smoke pouring out of it, hands never get hot.

2020-04-29 05:02:58 UTC

nice

2020-04-29 05:03:16 UTC

I kinda want a bren

2020-04-29 05:03:19 UTC

tbh

2020-04-29 05:03:26 UTC

11.5 barrel, 13.5 handguard, and the pig is about 3 inches if I remember right

2020-04-29 05:03:38 UTC

something like that

2020-04-29 05:04:24 UTC

@Artemis I remember you asking about that, sounds like a good setup

2020-04-29 05:04:54 UTC

mines 10.5 barrel 11 or 12 inch hg and it only covers the screw part

2020-04-29 05:05:12 UTC

Actually gonna be a bit jealous. I have a 16" rifle with a regular bcg and the rest of the parts are the same, and it weighs 5 pounds before optics

2020-04-29 05:05:21 UTC

nice

2020-04-29 05:05:29 UTC

Hers will probably be closer to 4

2020-04-29 05:08:35 UTC

thats sick

2020-04-29 05:09:56 UTC

When I got that handguard in I knew it would be light but I thought I had been gypped for a second, it feels like a cardboard tube

2020-04-29 05:12:31 UTC

Wish they would make a pistol wwsd receiver

2020-04-29 05:15:09 UTC

facts

2020-04-29 05:31:27 UTC

Built a full polymer AR that weighed out at 4.3lbs with optic. I had fun destroying that rifle 😂

2020-04-29 05:32:11 UTC

Man i love the WWSD but I just know I would break that shit

2020-04-29 05:32:36 UTC

My most recent weighs 10lbs 😥

2020-04-29 05:33:44 UTC

Bruh I saw someone bitching that an 8lb gun was too heavy. My primary gun for years was 18lbs, sheesh

2020-04-29 05:34:27 UTC

Losing the weight the correct way is EXPENSIVE

2020-04-29 05:35:34 UTC

My primary is 7.8lbs without a mag.

2020-04-29 05:36:00 UTC

That’s not bad at all

2020-04-29 05:37:30 UTC

Nope. Not to me. I really couldn’t care less about weight, I’m grabbing whichever gun I trust the most.

2020-04-29 05:38:23 UTC

I mean weight does matter, but I feel like people get obsessed over rifle weight for no reason.
That’s like, the easiest thing to carry. I’m worried about a weeks worth of batteries and water on my back

2020-04-29 05:46:03 UTC

I’m not saying it doesn’t actually matter, I just mean, in the moment, I’m grabbing ole trusty. Which would be my 11.6 lbs AR in 7.62 NATO (it’s actually a .308, I just have literally a metric shit ton of 7.62x51) I’ve had it for 11 years and tens of thousands of rounds without a failure

2020-04-29 05:47:18 UTC

>10 million rounds, no issues

2020-04-29 05:47:23 UTC

😉

2020-04-29 05:47:35 UTC

Hope you’ve got a throat erosion gauge

2020-04-29 05:51:08 UTC

Yessir. I’m estimating another 20000 rounds until she wears out. But, I’ve been wrong before. And if it fails, toss it and grab the next one! 😂
