@Artemis IMO, you’ve got 3 options for that build
Buy a semi-high tier AR
Buy a mid tier AR and accurize it
Buy a middish tier bolt gun

The try hard kids I can handle because they are just edge lords

2020-05-04 17:19:17 UTC

It’s the grown men who “I woulda been a ranger had I passed my PT test” that take it way to seriously

2020-05-04 17:19:44 UTC

Most of the kids are actually okay though. Their aggression in play will really throw you for a loop if you're used to playing cautious and only taking shots when you know you'll hit

2020-05-04 17:20:25 UTC

You'll be bunkered up then suddenly there's a tiny travis haley sprinting at you while putting 5 rounds in your chest

2020-05-04 17:21:04 UTC

airsoft *stuff* can be good for training. Going and playing airsoft is not

2020-05-04 17:21:12 UTC

If needed to head out with gear, you can practically carry just a rifle and pistol on you huh

2020-05-04 17:21:25 UTC

Hurts my heart not to bring the rest of the goods

2020-05-04 17:21:29 UTC

Dry fire real guns. Shoot real guns. Or buy the 22 LR version of your gun

2020-05-04 17:22:19 UTC

Next build a 22lr bolt action AR 💪 lol

2020-05-04 17:22:37 UTC

Dedicated 22lr AR’s are like 400bucks

2020-05-04 17:23:06 UTC

M&P sports were on sale for 360 yesterday

2020-05-04 17:23:12 UTC

Would the kali key that turns a 556 AR into a bolt gun work on the CMMG 22lr bolt🧐

2020-05-04 17:23:36 UTC

Uhhh maybe?

2020-05-04 17:24:32 UTC

Yea I want to buy the 22lr SW to be a fun silencer host

2020-05-04 17:25:22 UTC

My dad had one of those with a silencerco on it, sweet way to train

2020-05-04 17:25:43 UTC

Depends on who you're playing with. Pickup games can teach you a few things about aggression of action but I've had a few private games under instruction of a couple of rangers and that was something else

2020-05-04 17:27:07 UTC

But yeah I think i might go with a bolt gun and occasionally upgrade it. I'm not exactly made of money, but i want something serviceable that will fit my purpose

2020-05-04 17:27:46 UTC

If you already have a fighting rifle, that seems like a reasonable decision

2020-05-04 17:28:30 UTC

Oh wait I know you do

2020-05-04 17:28:42 UTC

Yeah I've got my 11.5 ultra tough doorkicker and 16" lightweight recce build

2020-05-04 17:29:09 UTC

I think tikkas are nicer than Remington’s out of the box, but the aftermarket and gunsmithing support is something to consider

2020-05-04 17:30:22 UTC

What’s your budget

2020-05-04 17:31:23 UTC

Definitely considering upgrades down the road. Going out and dropping several thousand isn't in the budget, but grabbing a high quality barrel or other component every month or two is doable

2020-05-04 17:32:08 UTC

On a budget I’ve heard the RUGER precision rifles are decent .

2020-05-04 17:32:15 UTC

Probably more spread out than that due to gunsmithing

2020-05-04 17:32:29 UTC

Gotcha. I would probably get a Remington 700 5R or AAC-SD in a regular stock and upgrade from there

2020-05-04 17:32:33 UTC

I've heard three rpr is good but there's not as much room for upgrading

2020-05-04 17:32:37 UTC

RPRs and savage 110 tacs are nice

2020-05-04 17:32:43 UTC

Howa precision is also super nice

2020-05-04 17:32:48 UTC

@TacticalBeard man I want to love the RPR but I handled one and it was...underwhelming

2020-05-04 17:32:56 UTC

Was it

2020-05-04 17:33:04 UTC

If you want a budget bolt you can upgrade the ruger Americans have a good after market

2020-05-04 17:33:16 UTC

And definitely a ton lighter than the RPR

2020-05-04 17:33:53 UTC

And the new ones take AICS mags

2020-05-04 17:33:54 UTC

Yeah, I mean I’ve read that they hold okay groups, but nothing particularly impressive. The bolt would bind if there was any lateral pressure

2020-05-04 17:34:15 UTC

Ah kk

2020-05-04 17:34:31 UTC

My american is sub moa with shitty Malaysian brass

2020-05-04 17:34:52 UTC

I need to do a true accuracy test with good ammo and see if I can get it closer

2020-05-04 17:35:21 UTC

I borrowed an American from my uncle for a hunting trip once, seemed like a pretty nice rifle

2020-05-04 17:35:38 UTC

For 300 bucks idk if you can beat it
