Oh, we’re doing this today. Okay

2020-05-06 18:31:12 UTC

T91 upper

2020-05-06 18:31:41 UTC

Unless you want bufferless, I think the t91 still needs a buffer

Wild.

2020-05-06 18:44:13 UTC

Didn’t know the SR556 was piston driven

2020-05-06 18:44:29 UTC

I’ll have to look into them

2020-05-06 18:44:45 UTC

Yeah, they’re supposed to be aight as far as poor boy HK416’s go. There was an upper on tacswap for like 500 the other day

2020-05-06 18:45:18 UTC

I recommended the t91 as a budget one, what’s the brn-180 going for about 1k?

2020-05-06 18:45:51 UTC

700bucks for the upper

2020-05-06 18:46:11 UTC

That’s not bad then, they drop their pic rail lower yet?

2020-05-06 18:46:40 UTC

🤨 no it’s that tall because of the piston

2020-05-06 18:47:00 UTC

416 is about the same. MCX is even taller IIRC

2020-05-06 18:47:30 UTC

No I mean the lower receiver with the pic rail where the buffer tube would go

2020-05-06 18:47:41 UTC

Ooooh

2020-05-06 18:47:42 UTC

I know it was listed but didn’t think they were out yet

2020-05-06 18:47:59 UTC

Oh drop as in release, I’m a fuckin idiot lmao

2020-05-06 18:48:21 UTC

I know there’s a pic adapter that will screw into the receiver extension

2020-05-06 18:48:44 UTC

Yeah that’s probably how I’d do it personally because of the price of the brownells receiver

2020-05-06 18:49:04 UTC

I’m waiting until they make a few more calibers

2020-05-06 18:50:23 UTC

I’d like to see a 8 or 10” in 300

2020-05-06 18:50:32 UTC

Mmmm maybe Dan will make a direct adapter from AR receiver extension to ACR stock 🤔

2020-05-06 18:50:54 UTC

Don’t put fantasy’s like that into my head

2020-05-06 18:51:43 UTC

ACR stock everything

2020-05-06 19:02:51 UTC

@Crye_Salesman not a piston fan?

2020-05-06 19:06:26 UTC

I’m eh about pistons. There aren’t too many proven platforms for the civilian world to build. Yes, there are many battle proven piston guns, but quite a few of those run a pretty price tag. A well maintained DI AR should perform just as well.

2020-05-06 19:08:40 UTC

There is no actual advantage to using pistons.

2020-05-06 19:08:59 UTC

There are good piston guns, but they aren’t good *because* they use pistons.

2020-05-06 19:09:06 UTC

I was gonna say that but I was afraid someone was gonna beat my ass

2020-05-06 19:09:19 UTC

I don’t believe there is any reason to go piston. In the AR platform, especially.

2020-05-06 19:09:35 UTC

I think if you want an effective difference, AKs are a good choice.

2020-05-06 19:10:00 UTC

Of course, if you choose an AK, I would suggest accurizing it.

2020-05-06 19:10:12 UTC

lol

2020-05-06 19:10:34 UTC

AK’s are a perfect example of that pistons don’t make bad guns any good 😉

2020-05-06 19:11:05 UTC

It just werks

2020-05-06 19:11:14 UTC

Don't pistons naturally run cleaner?

2020-05-06 19:11:32 UTC

No they just get dirty somewhere else

2020-05-06 19:11:46 UTC

Its much easier to field strip and clean an ak

2020-05-06 19:11:55 UTC

Imho

2020-05-06 19:13:06 UTC

Meh. Then I won't bother if there's no advantage.

2020-05-06 19:13:13 UTC

I mean. It’s virtually the exact same thing as field stripping an AR.
And any higher level of maintenance than that is *astronomically* easier on the AR

2020-05-06 19:13:48 UTC

@Bogs_Bunny it’s not that you should avoid pistons, it’s just that it’s not the game changer some people think it is
