my friend had one of those
work sucks
leave late
drive 25-30mph over the speed limit so I'm not one minute late
a total of 6 minutes late over 3 days total and I'm one infraction from being disciplined, next year's bonus has already been docked
I could punch literally two seconds into 1:31 twice in the next three months and be fired
despite having 30% more production than 3/4 of my peers
I've never worked for a place that strict on time
fuck I've taken two hour lunches
mine is 20 minutes paid
50 hours a week fam
there's a dude here who's also waived his lunch break who works 70hr/wk
Damn
damn
and is good at his job
and is a bro
somehow isn't running the place
That's rough stuff
too much work
70 hrs a week
to compensate
OT will burn you out
OT what
That many hours will kill everything about you eventually.
Overtime = OT
It's nice for extra pay, but it wears on you
And you're more susceptible to quitting/getting fired
and illness
JOBS ARE JAIL
I pulled some 50+ hour weeks in my last position. I felt like the pay wasn't worth the extra time lost there
Exempted position?
I was hourly then, so I got ot
Now I'm salaried, but it is pretty relaxed here
Won't work more than 40 a week for a long time
Nice. When salaried and required over 50 (ish) hours continually I always found the bargain becomes questionable.
Yeah. Agreed
I agree with the notion "jobs are jail." Knowing the illusion this may be, but with the right culture, leadership, and benefits jobs/work life can be quite enjoyable. Unfortunately firms that "do it right" are as common as unicorns rode by leprechauns.
I don't mean silo'd org's - I mean bottom to top "that way" although a silo'd org with the right people in the right seats can pull it off.
This is mandatory 50 hours
minimum
