It was heartening for me to note that deep down

western people, no matter how much they are assaulted

their basic responses are preserved even if deep down and even if rejected by the person

like if a family (with no very young children) sat down and watched some TV show

and some boob was shown

there would be a similar embarrassed response, even if unacknowledged, as people all over the world pretty much

despite the constant sexual image assault, most people are not completely compromised

which is another thing, the pretense that simulated violence is worse than simulated sex

the former is powerful, but the latter is insidious

even just watching advertisements in the UK, the assault is alienating

muting television, just watching the images avoids that light trance state induced by television watching

and makes the assault much more palpable

I always recommend people try it, mute TV and watch ads
