Lol
Look
It all depends on environment
Get a gun
Here where I live, I'm not the only one who can fight
people with more practical ideas are hardened murderers at age 13
Oh wait you're European LOL
Far from it
Lol
do you deal with Satanic Russian Skinhead?
also - if everyone in your town can fight, doesn't that make it that much more important to focus on the right details (stuff that gets results) rather than the wrong details (whether or not some fictional guru can kill everyone with obscure stuff)?
it seems like if you were desperate to outclass others, you'd want to focus first on that
Exilarch
you are steering it too much
I was not talking about any gurus
you said you wanted to learn "proper martial technique"
But quite obvious fact that certain aspects of boxing are formalized
wearing gloves for examples
not being able to use your legs to strike
not being able to grip
not being able to strike bellow waist
or to strike back
neck
etc
what is even changed by being able to strike those areas
it is just more body targets
hit and move
a powerful strike to the neck can disable an opponent instanteniously
sure it might require adaptation but why can you not spar with a friend and figure it out
if you boxed you already know how to hit and move against someone also hitting and moving
why can you not just apply what you already know to new body targets and new body weapons (i.e. legs)
boxing is not overly formalized, your mindset towards boxing is overly formalized
everything in martial training is a long road
from being able to strike legs
to being able to devastatingly strike them
is at least a 2-3 years of practice
but you are a boxer
you already know how to generate power
just figure out how to do it with legs instead of arms
you should have a serious edge already because you already know how to do it with your upper body
