I could be "going off the rails," but the fact that most modern work is very non-physical is a real problem. Most people require an interface with the raw, sensual, physical word to be sane.

Most modern work is simply too disembodied. It's disgusting.

I'm never happier than when I up north, building a fire, smelling the wood smoke, hunting, cleaning fish, working on an old motor... but that's maybe my old-fashioned embeddedness. I grew up before VR.
