But the secular religion of progress isn't dead yet

now it is just Pure cyberpunk, with rusted cities, robot overlords, scavenged things, and hard scrabble survival at the lowest level, killing dozens just for half a chance at a mouth full of food

Plenty are dropping out though as taking pulp science fiction as realistic portends of the future is really stupid.
