Why would you want to wear a suit prozak

2018-01-15 22:25:50 UTC

I guess two questions really

2018-01-15 22:26:21 UTC

One is why not find a cheap way to get one now if that's what you want

2018-01-15 22:26:29 UTC

Secondly why want it

2018-01-15 22:26:57 UTC

Once I stopped desiring herd approval I instantly valued entirely different clothing

2018-01-15 22:30:20 UTC

I have no desire to wear fragile, expensive, movement restricting clothing that is not good for walking, work or exercise, and I do not like the aesthetic of tightly fit with clean lines

2018-01-15 22:30:40 UTC

Also I do not like the lack of storage

2018-01-15 22:31:13 UTC

I cannot think of even one reason to like suits except to impress the other monkeys or nostalgia for muh 1950s

2018-01-15 22:33:54 UTC

1950s nostalgia is a stupid reason to wear suits anyway. "Everyone wore suits and society was functional, surely their wearing of suits was an important element of this. If they had otherwise done everything the same but wore togas instead, their society would have crumbled"

2018-01-15 22:38:01 UTC

suits are not for herd approval. Also, sometimes the herd approves of things that are cultured and classy, even if they also agree with decandence and filth.

2018-01-15 22:39:11 UTC

people in saner times, also wore suits. We should endeaver to restore some of these symbolic gestures

2018-01-15 22:40:23 UTC

Why

2018-01-15 22:40:32 UTC

Also why are only suits classy

2018-01-15 22:40:51 UTC

respectability

2018-01-15 22:41:02 UTC

Explain why a suit is automatically more respectable than a toga

2018-01-15 22:41:27 UTC

of your peers. When we go to conferences we dress, because it is a sign of good etiquette

2018-01-15 22:41:44 UTC

these are signs of being civilized

2018-01-15 22:41:52 UTC

What does that mean

2018-01-15 22:42:29 UTC

Pretend I am a space alien and all I see is humans wearing cloth. Why is the cloth arrangement you call a suit something to favor

2018-01-15 22:43:07 UTC

How is this different than a Congo nigger explaining why it's objectively respectable to have a large lip plate

2018-01-15 22:43:37 UTC

well. I don't have a very good description, but lets compare this line of thinking to the difference in achitectural standards from pre 19th century to post 19th century

2018-01-15 22:43:55 UTC

No that's an appeal to past history

2018-01-15 22:44:03 UTC

Explain why right now I should care

2018-01-15 22:44:23 UTC

to get a job

2018-01-15 22:44:28 UTC

dressing and acting in certain ways are the way that we express a sense of culture and civility

2018-01-15 22:44:39 UTC

job/contracts/clients

2018-01-15 22:44:41 UTC

the same as we want to build things a certain way

2018-01-15 22:44:51 UTC

How is that not exactly to impress the herd

2018-01-15 22:44:54 UTC

it's a way of presenting ourselves

2018-01-15 22:45:16 UTC

I don't mind if it does impress the herd

2018-01-15 22:45:26 UTC

that means we have a good herd

2018-01-15 22:45:43 UTC

wait

2018-01-15 22:45:48 UTC

because I am also impressed by it, and if they too are, then they have my respect

2018-01-15 22:45:59 UTC

at least in that regard

2018-01-15 22:46:00 UTC

"suits are good because they impress good people, I can tell they are good because they are impressed by suits"

2018-01-15 22:46:03 UTC

that is circular reasoning

2018-01-15 22:46:09 UTC

suits are good because they are good

2018-01-15 22:46:31 UTC

I didn't say this, I'm sure the herd has bad taste in many things, and good taste in other things

2018-01-15 22:46:39 UTC

so suits impress you because of their history of association with things you like and are impressed by

2018-01-15 22:46:49 UTC

haha, no

2018-01-15 22:47:04 UTC

so what if a guy is muscular, intelligent and heroic, he has a body like Arnold in his prime and he has six billion dollars and owns basically everything, and he wears only togas
