2018-10-16 13:04:44 UTC

Switzerland is probably the safest bet to live and not have it get fucked over. Somehow Switzerland gets that special status every time and always avoids everything that happens around them.

2018-10-16 13:05:13 UTC

Switzerland really is that big anomaly.

2018-10-16 13:05:24 UTC

@Noxar I'm not sure if you get bugged by this a lot or not, but how are you agnostic and traditionalist? How do you justify it?

2018-10-16 13:05:30 UTC

They even have guns

2018-10-16 13:05:47 UTC

I severely doubt there's been a recession in modern history that was not government made.

@Quasi Because I've experienced first hand where progressivism and degeneracy leads and it's not a happy place. It's nothing but misery

2018-10-16 13:11:30 UTC

There's actually a good video showing how trickl-down was nothing but a political whistle from some article waaaayyyyy back.

2018-10-16 13:11:49 UTC

It literally has nothing to do with actual economic theory whatsoever.

2018-10-16 13:14:05 UTC

@Noxar While I'm glad you repented, that doesn't answer my question. How would you know it's bad for *everyone?* Some have a problem with food (fatties) yet most of us can eat food without getting addicted to it.

2018-10-16 13:15:14 UTC

Categorically clear data, spanning extensive periods of time?

2018-10-16 13:16:30 UTC

@Quasi you think religion prevents you from being fat?

2018-10-16 13:17:11 UTC

@Noxar I think religion provides a philosophical foundation for traditionalism. Can you answer my question?

2018-10-16 13:20:59 UTC

@Quasi right I agree. I know that my view on religion is unacceptable to you as a religious person, but:
I believe religion is entirely man made, it's a tool for achieving orderly and functional society. The adherents have to follow certain rules and lifestyle otherwise they will be punished by god. In modern times we've replaced religion with strict legalism, the enforcer of said rules is no longer god but the state.
As such, I view religion as absolutely necessary for the creation of civilization and appreciate how it shaped the western world (christianity)

2018-10-16 13:22:01 UTC

Every great culture that ever existed had it's own religion for a reason

2018-10-16 13:22:32 UTC

@Mord just asked him

2018-10-16 13:22:41 UTC

And, unfortunately, the civilizations triumph will inevitably cause it's own downfall

2018-10-16 13:22:56 UTC

it's a cycle of life, cultures rise and fall

2018-10-16 13:23:13 UTC

it's our duty to try to stop the decline but the end is inevitable sooner or later

2018-10-16 13:23:38 UTC

its foolish to think some religion and/or culture will exist forever

2018-10-16 13:24:33 UTC

My teacher says the US is already at a state of Corporatism/Corporatocracy

2018-10-16 13:25:13 UTC

@PainSeeker5 that's true.

2018-10-16 13:25:40 UTC

Now you might ask why do I not accept religion. It's simple, I was brought up as an atheist, religion is not what I fundamentally base my worldview on, to become religious would be just pretending. @Quasi

2018-10-16 13:25:44 UTC

corporations already influence the government greatly.

2018-10-16 13:25:56 UTC

Some people here want that/like that

2018-10-16 13:26:12 UTC

Is mord in the US or EU I can’t remember

2018-10-16 13:26:15 UTC

@PainSeeker5 only the bourgeois would be fans of such policies.

2018-10-16 13:26:21 UTC

@Noxar This is a really materialist and ignorant view of religion. Instead of addressing it philosophically, like questioning it's *philosophy* (yes, Christianity has a full philosophy including metaphysics, epistemology and ethics) you question it's telos without understanding it well.

` In modern times we've replaced religion with strict legalism, the enforcer of said rules is no longer god but the state.`
You cannot simply equate man-made law and what is claimed to be Divine law. Christianity can also serve as a foundation for *resistance* to a status quo, not just the keeping of. Nor did you answer how do you philosophically justify traditionalism as an agnostic.

` It's simple, I was brought up as an atheist, religion is not what I fundamentally base my worldview on, to become religious would be just pretending. @Quasi`
I'll ask again, then how do you justify your worldview?
