I asked about how to make a spherical terrain engine
Initially I thought the ice wall was just an easy cop out to prevent your character falling off the edge
The more I dug the more I started to realise there are places they don't want us to go
You could use undefeatable enemies that kill you as an "edge"
you could use restricted area do not cross as an "edge"
"prisoner killed while trying to escape"
ice wall game?
You play Skyrim? you keep going south you reach an "edge of the map"
You walk on land you reach the sea, you don't dare swim into the ocean
You go on the road you do not dare drive off the road
You have your own "edges"
This is what lies at 80 degrees South
The terrain becomes cold, high, slippery, slopey, inhospitable, no supermarkets, no roads, no shops, no hotels
Fuel freezes
Antarctica?
you will turn back
your compass stops working
GPS GLONASS ChinaSat all stop working
Hello
It's impassable, is this the "edge"
What lies beyond this "edge" nobody's been there
im sure if you guys have a good enough reason they would let you walk around Antarctica people do that all the time
Your own fear of icy death creates an "edge"
infact just wanting to do it as a marathon or something is good enough
It's an everest climb after another everest after another everest, the farther south you go the colder it gets they have now recorded temperatures as low as minus 92 degrees C
Nobody has flown over 90 degrees S it's too cold
true but if i remember they even have roads going around the place
gotta go from base to base somehow
Even at 80 Degrees South you have to keep pumping fuel in and out of the engines even with anti freeze in the fuel tanks to prevent it freezing
They have a ceremonial South pole, Scott Amundsen Base
What’s the current topic fellas
It's at about 77 degrees South
I guess degrees
dunno
save the bees
true
literally^
Bees can be pretty epic, but only bumble bees
idk man
