No it's what you are doing when you see 1mm of apparent horizon drop below a theodolite and pretend light doesn't curve up as it travels through a lower temperature of air with elevation. You know the horizon is a lower elevation to you, you know the light is going through colder layers of air, you know it is curving upwards, you're treating it as if it is a straight line then calling the man who points out your fallacious assertions a liar when it is you who is the one doing the sleight of hand.
