At first I thought it was an anime called 60FPS.

@Towelie it's more pseudo 60 because I use SVP, which interpolates extra frames

it's actually pretty good

well depends of the anime

the few example I saw with that smoothvideo project weren't really smooth

most of the anime are using 24fps which is fine in itself

but to reduce the cost some, to not say a lot of companies, double the same images so it's really just 12fps with 2 frames before the next movement

it works really well for anime with a lot (if not completely) of 3D cgi

not really the kind of anime I like then

few exceptions for masamune shirow's works like appleseed movies

I don't mind it

I do like Polygon Pictures

Although their Ajin cgi was occasionally pretty poor

oh, it's not just about the CGI but yeah

that's a really good example of 2 frames animations I was talking about earlier

it reduce the render time and thus, the cost of the anime

hence the pretty poor FPS of those animes

the animation is sluggish at best on those anime

yeah they sometimes cut down character animation to 8fps

in s2 it mostly disappeared

that's really cheap

it works for close to static scenes and it should be limited to that imho

if they can pull it off with 3 times less job, I guess we gonna see 6fps animations soon...
