or what

2016-11-17 02:05:07 UTC

whats it even doing

2016-11-17 02:06:02 UTC

no, it's not a swap (extra ram if you use your ram), it's made to cache your small files and speed up their access if I remember correctly

2016-11-17 02:06:37 UTC

I don't use that because I have a RAID10 ssd but that's basically the use if I remember correctly

2016-11-17 02:06:40 UTC

lemme check a bit

2016-11-17 02:06:50 UTC

i also have a ssd

2016-11-17 02:07:10 UTC

I don't have one ssd... I have 6...

2016-11-17 02:07:19 UTC

in RAID10, it's not the same lol

2016-11-17 02:07:25 UTC

dunno if its raid10 or w/e

2016-11-17 02:07:27 UTC

oh

2016-11-17 02:07:29 UTC

nope

2016-11-17 02:07:31 UTC

lol

2016-11-17 02:07:36 UTC

i have just the one

2016-11-17 02:07:47 UTC

RAID10 is RAID 1 + 0

2016-11-17 02:08:01 UTC

RAID1 is disk copy to avoid loss

2016-11-17 02:08:12 UTC

ah ok

2016-11-17 02:08:22 UTC

RAID0 is some kind of virtual disk made of 2+ disk

2016-11-17 02:08:34 UTC

well leme know if u fid out wtf readyboost is

2016-11-17 02:08:40 UTC

or if i even need it

2016-11-17 02:08:41 UTC

lol

2016-11-17 02:08:48 UTC

hmmm

2016-11-17 02:08:54 UTC

yeah will check

2016-11-17 02:08:57 UTC

ty

2016-11-17 02:10:12 UTC

well it's basically what I said

2016-11-17 02:10:27 UTC

it depends of your uses

2016-11-17 02:10:57 UTC

i just dedicated a 60 gb flash drive to it

2016-11-17 02:11:13 UTC

32GB is the max size of the cache though, so you may use a smaller pendrive as 60 something is like 2 times the max size 😃

2016-11-17 02:11:23 UTC

my roomate is in it and brings home tons of usb sticks

2016-11-17 02:11:30 UTC

so i just used one for it]

2016-11-17 02:12:24 UTC

oh i dont care lol i have 8 million 2.0 usb's and a decent amount of 3.0's

2016-11-17 02:12:50 UTC

as I said, it makes faster the access of small files, it's not really life changing especially if you already have an SSD

2016-11-17 02:13:05 UTC

hrm

2016-11-17 02:13:17 UTC

so what does it do exacly

2016-11-17 02:13:39 UTC

just speed up procssing of the hardrive files

2016-11-17 02:13:47 UTC

it cache small file lol

2016-11-17 02:14:03 UTC

so your computer can access them "faster"

2016-11-17 02:14:20 UTC

but an SSD is faster than a USB3.0

2016-11-17 02:14:36 UTC

it may be fine for 5400rpm HDD on laptop

2016-11-17 02:14:49 UTC

but I doubt you'd see any change
