on win 10, you don't need neither gimp nor paint to crop

Is it just me, or does photoshop not have a very stand-out method of cropping?

Hmm, I forget what all I was doing, but I think I was trying to crop something the other week and couldn't find a crop to selection in any of the toolbar menus.
selection > edit > copy as a new or somthing like that

been ages I didn't use toshop
"paste as a new" I meant
it open a new tab or something like that

or you can just press Ctrl+N and select the preset "clipboard"
there's like hundread of way to do that

Well, gimp has a "paste as" function.
"Paste as layer"
it does create a new project, but the preset can be "clipboard" so it select the right size, etc from your last selection copy
and by action I made myself, I meant, you can create actions in photoshop ^^"
If only there was an action to color index a video to palette without converting it to an image. >_> I was trying to compress / dither a video into a comodore 64 palette.
you can do that on after effect I guess
I ended up creating like 12 different gradient and posterize / threshold layers.
