We had the NES Metal Gear and MGS1.

It would be great if you had the nostalgia of the old games I guess, but as long as you discovered something you like, it's all good

Didn't play the actual MSX2 version of Metal Gear till Subsistence came out, though.

it's fine, the MSX emulator is crappy

the game runs smooth in MGS3 HD
