so, if the game didn't belong to Sony (because they paid, helped, etc), if the sony reference can be removed, it still means that Konami would have to pay to develop the game from scratch again. But since it's a Sony all-time exclusive anyway, that kind of debate is useless
just like people thinking that Death Stranding will be released on PC and or X1, they are just dreaming.

the difference is that Sony doesn't hold the right for "metal gear" franchise and Konami could still release a remake of the game (not a port though because Sony contributed to MGS4 development), but are they willing to do that ?
Sony hold the rights for Death Stranding because KojiPro is now a first party studio of SIE so here lies the only minor difference.
I don't know the details of the contract Konami did have with Sony at that time, but I doubt they would even be able to reuse the assets they made for the game.

Kojima mentionned multiple times that he always had a good relationship with Sony and went more specific once or twice saying that Sony CTO helped with MGS4.
