The U.S. Treasury Department on Tuesday added VEPR firearm maker Molot to the growing list of sanctioned Russian companies and individuals involved in the conflict in the Ukraine.

The announcement this week included more than three dozen people or entities noted as directly or indirectly contributing to the conflict area ranging from Ukrainian separatists in the so-called Republic of the Crimea to hotels and holding companies. Russian firearms and munitions maker Molot-Oruzhie, which exports semi-automatic firearms to the U.S., was named as evading earlier sanctions imposed in 2014 on similar companies such as Kalashnikov.

Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (AMD) shares were up 0.4% to $14.43 on Thursday morning, after the stock jumped nearly 10% on Wednesday as the market digested news of its latest microchip release, Epyc.

Analysts began to weigh in on the company following the chip's unveiling.

BMO Capital Markets, which has an "outperform" rating and $15 price target on the company, is in a wait and see pattern with the company, with analyst Ambrish Srivastava saying, "In our view, launching Epyc CPU in a timely manner is AMD's first major step in the right direction in the company's goal in capturing double-digit share in the data center CPU market."

However, the firm also said that it would wait for independent benchmarks to be published before coming to any conclusions on the chip's potential penetration.

Canaccord Genuity meanwhile raised the company's price target to $20 from $17, anticipating that the chip will add $100 million in revenue this year while modeling for $1 billion in revenue by 2020. The firm maintained its "buy" rating on the company.

Oppenheimer expects AMD to see improved profits in the second half of 2017, as its top-end processor has garnered orders from Dell Technologies Inc. (DVMT) gaming affiliate Alienware. California Attorney General Xavier Becerra (D) will bar state employees from business trips to four states after those states passed measures limiting the rights of LGBT people.

The new restrictions prohibit state-funded or state-sponsored travel to Texas, Alabama, Kentucky and South Dakota, Becerra said Thursday.

State legislators in Texas, Alabama and South Dakota this year passed new laws allowing adoption or foster parent agencies to refuse service to LGBT families. A new Kentucky law would allow student organizations at state schools to block LBGT people from membership.

California’s Democrat-dominated legislature passed a measure last year barring state-funded travel to states that allow discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity.

Already, the law has blocked employee travel to four other states — Kansas, Mississippi, North Carolina and Tennessee.

An Illinois man has been charged after posting online several times that he wants to assassinate President Donald Trump.

U.S. Secret Service Special Agent Vincent Pescitelli said in a criminal complaint that Pickett "did knowingly and willfully make a threat to take the life of, to kidnap, and to inflict bodily harm" against Trump on Facebook.

The posts included frequent profanity as well as detailed death threats to the president. After making the online threats, Pickett also posted several times that he was "still waiting" for the Secret Service to come arrest him.

"Please call the Cops on me now so I have an,excuse to use my firepower .... AR 15, AK 47, s and w 40, Sig sauer 9 mm. Oh I'm so afraid of the police now..," he wrote.

Pickett will be detained until a trial because the court can't ensure the safety of other people in community due to "mental instability," according to court documents.

Saudi security forces on Friday foiled a suicide attack on the Grand Mosque in the Muslim holy city of Mecca, cornering the would-be attacker in an apartment, where he blew himself up, the Interior Ministry said.

In a statement read on state television, the ministry said that three cells had planned the attack on worshippers and security forces at the mosque as the Muslim holy month of Ramadan nears its climax.

The trapped would-be suicide bomber exchanged fire with the security forces, then set off explosives when he was surrounded in a house in the central Mecca neighborhood of Ajyad al-Masafi near the mosque that had been used as the base for the attack, the ministry said.

It was not immediately clear who was behind the plot to attack the mosque, but the Islamic State group, which wants to establish a theocratic caliphate ruled according to strict Islamic law, had in the past carried out attacks in the kingdom.

In May last year, Saudi security forces shot dead two alleged Islamic State fighters outside Mecca, and two others blew themselves up outside Mecca.
