Right I have not found the specific source I was looking for that shined a light on how common famines were before the mid 50's but I believe it was a work by Mark Tauger that talked about the agricultural situation in the Eastern European region but I still found some documents that could help people understand the situation

2020-01-29 19:24:18 UTC
2020-01-29 19:24:37 UTC

Now before I go to sleep let me speak about the rest of the situation

2020-01-29 19:25:26 UTC

There are several documents saying how the Soviets were called to take action due to the famine

2020-01-29 19:25:46 UTC

Ok honestly, if you’re quoting marxists.org you’re off to a bad start

2020-01-29 19:26:11 UTC

What do you think marxist.org is?

2020-01-29 19:26:57 UTC

What is that document supposed to show?

2020-01-29 19:27:09 UTC

It's where most documentation about the Communism and the USSR is published. It's not a news outlet

2020-01-29 19:27:15 UTC

It's a website for documents

2020-01-29 19:27:40 UTC

Ok, and what is that document trying to show?

2020-01-29 19:27:49 UTC

A document showing a regional committee requesting to take repressive measures to stop the famine

2020-01-29 19:28:50 UTC

Ok, how does that prove your point?

2020-01-29 19:29:00 UTC

Now there is another document showing the CC accepting the request

2020-01-29 19:29:08 UTC

I thought you were showing tsarist agricultural yield

2020-01-29 19:29:15 UTC

Ok, that really doesn’t support your point

2020-01-29 19:29:43 UTC

Agricultural yield? If you're asking about that then sure let me find that one

2020-01-29 19:30:01 UTC

That second one is actually saying they’re doing a bad job

2020-01-29 19:30:08 UTC

It’s not approval of famine relief

2020-01-29 19:31:43 UTC

And they’re dated the same day

2020-01-29 19:31:54 UTC

What makes you think these are related

2020-01-29 19:35:38 UTC

2020-01-29 19:35:39 UTC

Right this is the full report which shows the Agricultural yield of the region

2020-01-29 19:36:00 UTC

Also on what you said

2020-01-29 19:36:30 UTC

I was getting to that

2020-01-29 19:36:42 UTC

That document showed the willingness of the Soviets to help with the famine

2020-01-29 19:36:51 UTC

Ok, so you think this shows famine,

2020-01-29 19:36:54 UTC

No it doesn’t

2020-01-29 19:36:56 UTC

Now there were 3 main issues that caused the famine

2020-01-29 19:37:00 UTC

It shows the opposite if anything
