Their best bet is having a big sweep as a result of a poorly orchestrated Brexit, either defeating most of the Labour or Tory seats there.
Even then it's still an uphill struggle
They have a better chance than Catalonia though, which has a Spanish constitution prohibiting anything.
What we can be sure of though is that Boris will significantly boost their cause, as each time he refuses a referendum it will just make independence activists in Scotland more angry.
But it's Spain themselves that make it harder for Scotland
How can Scotland rejoin the EU?
No Spanish Government is stupid enough to say yes
Free Scotland
Why?
what "why" ?
Why do you think Scotland should be independent?
mhm
makes sense for them to go for independence
But why?
Self governance, remaining within the EU
that was a key factor in their last referendum
Nationalism?
Ignore me, but it tends to drive independence
They've been building up in independence support for a couple centuries I believe
Centuries?
They tried to revolt in the Georgian Era
Other than that they've been the same
SNP weren't even a major party until a few years ago with Alex Salmond and Nicola Sturgeon
Since the 1800s excuse me
From wanting their own Parliament to independence
I mean in the Scottish Parliament the SNP have never gotten 50% of the seats
They need that majority if they are going to push the argument to Boris or a future PM that they represent "the will of Scotland", as the SNP will never be granted another referendum or be taken seriously otherwise.
Their best bet is to wipe out Labour in Scotland.
Because I doubt Tory seats are that easy.
The thing is that the Scottish Parliament is like the German Bundenstag
As in it has a certain amount of Proportional Representation
All you British people are fucking pompous
brit
That's why Guy Fawkes should've blown up Parliament back then
Then you guys wouldn't be a fucking thing would you fucking England POMPOUSes
Pretty interesting to see Britain moving forward with Brexit
I'm sure this will have it's own pros and cons in the future as it plays out
