The Catalan counties were always given a devolved status by Aragon
Comparing a former principality of a now legally extinct kingdom to Scotland the oldest kingdom in Europe is an absurdity. @TheBritishGamer β€π (Meh)
@D7V1D Extinct in name only. The name "Kingdom of Spain" is misleading. Aragon is much more different than Castille or Lyon or any of the other Kingdoms
Spain just doesn't like the idea of devolved Kingdoms
Well, more like Franco was super anti-devolution
And it stuck
is brexit good or bad
What you make it
i
Great Britain is the united kingdom of the Kingdoms of Scotland and England, both kingdoms still have legal status and both kingdoms are superior in rank to the united kingdom that is Great Britain. Spain is one single kingdom. Castille was abolished into four regions. Aragon had a similar fate.
Spain acts like it's one Kingdom. It really shouldn't be when you look at it in detail
It's why they've had so many problems with Basque and CataluΓ±a
Great Britain and Spain should adopt federal systems.
Spain should at least try to get a system like the UK as a first step and then go down the path of federalisarion
But yeah
It should be a federal system
Unlike the Castillians who annihilated their kingdom into several regions for the integrity of Spain, the English refuse to destroy their kingdom into nine regional assemblies.
Cornish Nationalism is so adorable
They're so small but proud
@TheBritishGamer β€π (Meh) English nationalism is more adorable, the English think because they are a big fish in the British pond they think they are a big fish in the European pond too and a even bigger fish in the global pond. Oh bless them, so small but proud.
Eh, English Nationalism is more embarrassing to watch
You see, once it gets to a certain size, it's not really adorable anymore
It's just ugly
@TheBritishGamer β€π (Meh) The problem is the English think their country is more important than what it actually is, England is essentially a province, a big province in British terms but a small province in European terms and a very tiny province in Global terms.
I wouldn't mind England and Scotland forming a GB Football team
Mainly because I want Robertson playing as a LB for us
