i remember back 10 years ago they were scaring us in schools with those ozone holes lmao i still get flashbacks

2018-12-15 23:33:50 UTC

jk about flashbacks

2018-12-15 23:40:17 UTC

O yeah

2018-12-15 23:40:49 UTC

ozone holes are a legit thing and they are now repairing

2018-12-15 23:41:37 UTC

although they did find some sort of a new source of pollution (for these chemicals that destroy ozone) from somewhere in Kazakhstan

2018-12-16 12:13:22 UTC

Yeah, ozone holes really existed like McBacoon stated. CFCs were banned in the 70s I believe. They were in things like spray paint. Also, global warming is climate change. That's the same issue.

2018-12-16 12:14:03 UTC

but mah arctic foxes

2018-12-16 12:14:55 UTC

Well, I've said before that my area is going to benefit from global warming so I don't mind that much. Just gotta make sure the warming doesn't go overboard. We'll have the issue fixed in time.

I am curious, do you think there is a way for these problems to self correct through the natural laws of the economics? Will there come a point where the social costs naturally turn into incentives for better, cleaner products?

2018-12-17 04:05:30 UTC

And also, I have read from sources like the economist that as CO2 levels rise, the earth becomes more green. Plant growth increases. This helps to regulate the excess CO2.

2018-12-17 10:35:33 UTC

I've read that CO2 fertilizes the planet, so it makes sense the more CO2 the more plant growth. I think there could come a time where the environment was being harmed and the economy would continue to benefit energy sources that cause the problem, so the government would need to step in. The thing is that we are not close to that point. I don't mind some subsidies like the subsidies Tesla got, I just don't want to force inefficent energy and ban other forms of energy right now. I think having broud energy sources is a good thing.

2018-12-17 13:21:07 UTC

CO2 does fertilize the planet. Thats why there were mega floura and fauna millions of years ago.

2018-12-17 13:21:38 UTC

big plants = big herbivores = big carnivores

2018-12-17 14:21:30 UTC

big meat big cheese

2018-12-17 14:21:35 UTC

it's all coming together!

2018-12-17 14:53:12 UTC

I remember in Cosmos they talk about how there were huge insects in the past because the oxygen density was super thick, and the way they breath is basically from the outside in. So the denser the oxygen the bigger they get. When the Oxygen gets less dense they have to get smaller or they wouldn't have enough Oxygen for their organs because the outside part of their body would've used it all up.

2018-12-19 22:26:04 UTC

Global warming isn’t real it’s cold outside

2018-12-19 22:55:31 UTC

facts

2018-12-19 22:56:30 UTC

climate change is real, it changes each seasons and there are 4 seasons so the climate changes 4 times and in some cases 2 times only, in countries where there are winter and summer

2018-12-20 07:54:19 UTC

kill the wise one

Lol Peterson is very good at talking and just pulling information out of his brain at a moment's notice. I can't rapid fire anywhere near as well....

2018-12-20 11:17:07 UTC

2018-12-20 11:17:28 UTC

Yeah that was awesome

2018-12-20 11:18:02 UTC

i for one identify with our lobster kin

2018-12-20 11:19:36 UTC

So your not a furry, but a Shelly?

2018-12-20 11:21:17 UTC

well i like furries

2018-12-20 11:22:08 UTC

Hahaha

2018-12-20 11:22:51 UTC

It isn't related to climate though

2018-12-20 11:23:25 UTC

how about that rabbit hole

2018-12-20 11:23:49 UTC

Jesus, he's a good man

2018-12-20 11:24:10 UTC

did he believe in climate change though? <:hmmmCoffeeSmile:480455316262354954>

I don't like how 'the guardian' is using his image though

2018-12-28 17:39:46 UTC

The climate changes anyway

2018-12-28 18:07:14 UTC

No it didn’t

2018-12-28 18:07:22 UTC

We only have winter
