Global warming describes an average temperature increase of the Earth over time. Climate change describes how weather patterns will be affected around the globe.
I.E. the NCSU Office.
Maybe this is from a change in our understanding of what has already and potentially could happen?

I know Climate change exists, but isn't it ironic that the people that preach it do nothing to fight against it
