According to anti geothermal experts

Geothermal plants actually extract more than what is naturally extracted

So a hot geyser might naturally extract 100 co2

But a geothermal plant might force it up to 300 co2

Etc

Just to meet power demand ofc

I'm pro-nuclear but it has a bad name

So it would be a pain to get it through

The only problem is that nuclear plants represent a liability

If each state in the united states built nuclear reactors

No fossil fuel would ever be used

No solar

No wind

And nuclear waste

No hydro necessary
