Illegal border crossings are at a low and have been for the last decade or so and immigration, illegal or not, both provide economic benefits to the economy. Also, if Trump was actually worried about illegal immigration, he would tackle the biggest thing thats causing it : Overstayed Visas, but he is trying to build a medieval wall to appeal to his support-base's emotions and fears.
