That's how I feel about every convo in here
I think we should do a population exchange, let the authoritarians move to Russia and let the more american-like Russians move here
```Here was Jordan's argument:
We needed to make sure Ukraine is not corrupt, so we witheld the military aid and asked them to do something corrupt, and they didn't do that corrupt thing (although they were about to), so they passed the test and got the aid.
Also the people here don't have direct knowledge, but we are not calling for the people with direct knowledge to testify. Also we need the whistleblower, who has no first hand knowledge, to testify.
Also we have no idea who the whistleblower is, but we are also sure they are a Biden ally and a Democrat who hates the President.```
Did Republicans raise any valid points during the hearings?
Or was it all theatrics and banging on the table?
I watched a decent amount, it was very bad
It might fool some of their base though, because they are good at making irrelevant points seems relevant(to their people)
I only watched some bits and pieces, but it did look like a complete circus on their behalf.
Nunes was an embarrassment as usual.
So was Steve Castor.
And I am getting the feeling that there's an organized effort in discouraging the neutral viewer from even participating in the hearings.
I somehow doubt that the regular person who's not actively invested in politics will sit down and go through conspiracy theories and soap opera monologues from these clowns.
from the Republicans? To me, they want to make it seem like the Democrats are inflating a non-issue to a major issue, while trying to keep as many people from testifying as possible
And then, little by little, the entire process gets dismissed, which is exactly what Republicans aim for I think.
Some like Jordan are clearly going for soundbites and clips showing strength, etc
like the Ben Shapiro tactic of looking like you are winning regardless of what is actually being said
I was gonna say he is definitely the Ben Shapiro stunt double in the House Oversight Committee.
His entire way of communicating resembles Shapiro's dialectic maneuvers.
Or, well, Shapiro's resembles Jordan's.
He's been a politician his whole life AFAIK
Ironic considering Republics are always saying Bernie has never had a real job etc
The two-party system is fundamentally flawed.
The two party system has no one to blame but the people
I think that's what makes smart and educated guys commit to being obviously dishonest during their lifetime as politicians.
well, the two-party system is a symptom of a flaw in non proportionate system
I cannot imagine that a person like Jim Jordan is morally unaware to the point where he doesn't see anything wrong with what his entire party is doing.
He is absolutely not an idiot.
No doubt. they make a conscious choice to be that way
A criminal class in kind if not in name
As Trump would say, "Sad!".
Often times they don't have the skills for other amoral jobs
Yes, but apparently being a stooge doesn't require much of anything.
In this case, it's a performance art
Yeah.
I don't think much will come of these hearings tbf.
Trump is orange
Democrats only hope that they create enough negative coverage for Trump that he's voted out in 2020.
I expect some legislation to make it a firmer 'no no' on things like what Gulliani was doing
and he's racist
Kanye was in his office. He cannot be racist!
